Each encounter type includes a code.
Eventually the premise would be to establish an encounter table based not upon the creature, but upon the encounter type, with a second roll to indicate which monster would then fit the role. This would allow the DM to more closely associate the monster with the particular environment in which the players find themselves, and the nature of the encounter desired.
